Team Kahele Phone Banking Last Night

HILO, Hawaiʻi – The volunteers of Team Kahele took to the phones last night calling hundreds of absentee voters asking for their support for State Senator Gil Kahelein this years primary election. With the Office of Elections sending out the yellow voter identification cards yesterday, Hilo voters who vote via mail and absentee will start receiving their ballots starting early next week. The response after last nights phone banking has been overwhelmingly positive and is a good indication that Team Kahele is getting the Gilʻs message out to the voters of Hilo and they like what they see and hear. Kahele Canvasses Hilo – Countdown to Election Day 26

HILO, Hawaiʻi – State Senator Gil Kahele is canvassing every day until the August 11th primary election to ensure that his campaign message is heard by every home and every voter in Hilo.
On one of his walks, Gil met a young little boy who took an interest in talking about baseball and growing up in Hilo. As a young boy nearly 62 years ago also growing up in Hilo, Senator Kahele could relate to this young boyʻs experiences and they enjoyed a nice conversation together. “Why I Support Senator Gil Kahele” Radio Campaign Starts Today!

HILO, Hawaiʻi – State Senator Gil Kahele is a leader for ALL the people of Hilo. Born in the fishing village of Miloliʻi and raised in the public housing projects of Kimyville and Lanakila Housing, he draws from a wide range of support from the Hilo community. It is important the message of why people support Gil, both in Hilo and throughout our State, is heard. It is because of this on Monday, July 16th 2012 the Friends of Gil Kahele campaign team is starting its radio campaign of “Why I support Senator Gil Kahele”. It will feature past and current leaders of our state government, business owners in Hilo, teachers, retired educators, seniors and the next generation of Hilo. It will be featured on New West Broadcasting stations KWXX, B97 and KPUA and will run through the August 11th primary election. In our first segment of testimonials we feature Former Governor John D. Waiheʻe III, Former State Senators Russell Kokubun and Dwight Takamine, Former principal of Hilo High School James Kurashige, Green Pointe Nurseries Co-Owner Eric Tanouye, Former State Civil Defense Chief Ed Teixeira, UFC Star and Hilo native BJ Penn and 31 year veteran of the DOE 4th grade teacher Kim Kumano Springer.
