As a gathering place for the people of Hawai’i, the Hawai’i State Capitol serves as one of the showcases for the State Foundation On Culture And The Arts, Art Public Places Collection-The Peoples Art. The Capitol provides a prominent and symbolic venue to display the State’s art collection increasing access to and supporting prominent artists. On Friday, April 1st 2011, Senator Gil Kahele will open his Senate Office Room 208 for this event. Senator Kahele’s office features several local artist’s such as renowned Hawai’i artist Herb Kane as well as the Senator’s personal art collection from the Big Island.
